▸ Fundació Bit co-organizes a  sustainable tourism business ideas contest. Teams can submit artificial inteligence based solutions to problems such as seasonality or environmental impact. The selected projects will participate in the contest final at 4YFN (Barcelona), where they will compete for a prize of €5,000.

▸ El País has published a report of the 800 young Spanish companies with the fastest growth,  23 based in the Balearic Islands appear in it. Of these, only 2 are tech companies: Travel Compositor (271) and Dynasoft Spain (489).

▸ Interview with Javier Pérez, CEO of Customia, where he talks about Fideltour, a company created and launched by Customia that offers solutions to reinforce the direct sales strategy of tourism companies.

▸ COPE talked to Jaume Monserrat, CEO and co-founder of Hitt Group and president of Turistec, about the 5G network, the progress in the Balearic Islands compared to the rest of Spain, its positive advantages and doubts about data control.

▸ 23/01 – STEM Talks Menorca. GDG Menorca organizes an event focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with the objective of promoting scientific and technical careers. Professionals from Google and Microsoft, among other companies and institutions, will participate.

▸ 29/01 – re: Invent 2019 recap and S3. AWS Palma Group Meetup where there will be talks to discuss the news presented at the AWS re: Invent in Las Vegas and about deploying projects with S3 buckets.

▸ 31/01 – Revenue Management y Chatbots en 2020. Meetup with on ML application cases for revenue management and what a good chatbot needs.

▸ 06/02 – Innovation funding in the digital age. Javier Ponce, General director of the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), will share the opportunities available for small and medium enterprises.

▸ 08/02 – Django Girls Mallorca. New edition of this web programming workshop aimed at women. You can also register as a volunteer and participate as a coach/mentor.

🔸 22/11 – Yaiza Canosa, founder and CEO of GOI, will talk at Emprenbit’s Tramuntana Tech Talks about her experience (has founded several startups despite being under 30) in the world of tech companies. GOI is a logistics startup that has already managed more than 50,000 shipments for companies such as El Corte Inglés, IKEA or Worten and whose revenue last year exceeded 7 figures.

🔸 27/11 – Workshop about blockchain applied to tourism, organized by the FI Group and with the collaboration of the University of the Balearic Islands.

🔸 28/11 – Mallorca Python returns with a meeting where they will talk about “everything you would have liked to know about Python when you started programming”, “how to write a process that performs data scraping” and several lightning talks .

🔸 29-30/11 – III Lab-X Hackathon organized by TravelgateX. An event that will focus on collaboration to create innovative Business Intelligence solutions in tourism. During the event, multidisciplinary teams will be formed so that they can better assist in the challenge. It is not an event exclusively for developers!

🔸 29/11 – Creative Sorority – Ladies, Wine & Design Mallorca, an international non-profit initiative that seeks to strengthen the women of our environment through talks, workshops and creative meetings.
