▸ Bersity has just closed a 240,000€ investment round led by the investment fund The Valley Venture Capital. The online education platform has sold more than 1,500 courses in 15 countries and has gained more than 3,000 registered users to date.
▸ The company REM Experience has developed an educational tool that allows Menorcan students in 1st ESO to build their own talaiot through a video game. They have also established a collaboration with the enterprise Applus+ for which it has developed a 3D tool to simulate the inspection of any type of vehicle without the need to physically have it in front of you.
▸ Last year, 11,800 cases of cybercrime were reported in the islands, 38 percent more than in 2020, according to the latest Study on Cybercrime in Spain prepared by the Ministry of the Interior. The archipelago is the fourth province, after Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, where more cases are detected.
▸ Palma joins the city councils of San Sebastián, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Málaga in digitising the Empresa Municipal de Transportes (EMT) with European funds. The project includes the virtualisation of the citizen card, the digitisation of fleet management and the installation of smart bus shelters.
▸ PayParc, a fintech startup, has already exceeded a transaction volume of over USD 400k in their first 5 months.
▸ El País takes an extensive look at the history of Perfume’s Club from its beginnings in the 1950s to the present day, when the group has a turnover of more than 140 million euros.

▸ 14/10 – Learnings from 7 years of entrepreneurship in the field of renewables. Talk with Cristina Aleixendri, Co-founder of bound4blue. Recognized as one of the Top 50 entrepreneurs in Europe in 2019 by Forbes magazine, during her talk she will talk about: the first steps of the bound4blue project and its evolution until now, including how they accessed funding (both public and private), the development of the first version of their product, the first sales and their talent attraction policy.
▸ 21/10 – Laura Urquizu, CEO and Managing Director of Red Points. During her seven years at the company, Laura has pivoted its model, transforming it into an online brand protection and counterfeit detection SaaS, operating globally around the world. In August 2018, Red Points was named one of “Europe’s most popular start-ups” by Wired magazine. In the coming year, the company expects to increase its turnover by 50% to €25m.
▸ 28/10 – Mauricio Prieto, Co-founder of eDreams in 1999. 15+ years acting as Chief Marketing Officer of the company, during which eDreams became one of the largest OTAs in the world with sales of $5.5 billion in bookings, revenues of $550 million, and EBITDA of $140 million. eDreams went public in 2014 at a valuation of over $1 billion, becoming the first Spanish “unicorn”.
